Netflix has unveiled a lengthy first-look trailer/making-of video that will introduce viewers to Tuca & Bertie, the new animated series from BoJack Horseman production designer Lisa Hanawalt. You can take a look right here…

“They’re relatable, fly AF, and just happen to be bird women”, says Netflix’s official description of the show. “From creator Lisa Hanawalt and the creative minds behind BoJack Horseman, Tuca & Bertie, starring Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong comes to Netflix on May 3.”

As well as Haddish and Wong, you’ll also hear the voices of Steven Yeun, Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Amber Ruffin, Jermaine Fowler and Tessa Thompson in the show.

Here’s the video to explain more about the show…

And here is a series of images, that Collider shared from the series…

Certainly, the excellence of BoJack Horseman, which manages to tell a darkly comic story about stardom and mental health whilst also being an animated comedy filled with animal puns, has garnered enough goodwill that another show in the same style is a very welcome prospect.

Tuca & Bertie will arrive on Netflix on May 3rd, and we look forward to watching it.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
