Who Is America: Sacha Baron Cohen’s new TV series gets a teaser trailer

Sacha Baron Cohen is returning to the small screen for a series entitled Who Is America? for Showtime and Channel 4. In the style of Borat and Da Ali G Show, this show will see Cohen ‘undercover’ in a role.

Fans of Cohen’s unique comedy stylings were treated to a first look on Twitter, where a brief Who Is America? teaser trailer has been released:

Not for the first time, it looks like Mr Sacha Baron Cohen is getting political. Dick Cheney, a former Vice President of the United States, is seen in the video signing a waterboard kit at the behest of Sacha Baron Cohen’s character.

Channel 4 and Showtime describes Who Is America? thusly:

“In the works over the past year, the seven-episode series will explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate the unique nation..”

“Nobody knows how to cause a stir like Sacha Baron Cohen, and it’s going to be fascinating to watch what happens when Who is America? is released on the world,” said Showtime’s David Nevins.

Who Is America? will premiere on Showtime, over in the USA, on July 15th at midnight. Channel 4 will air the first episode in the UK the next day, with a broadcast at 10pm on July 16th.
