“Madame de Pompadour. You look younger every day.”

Consigning himself to the “slow path”, the Tenth Doctor breaks through a time window on Arthur the horse to save his new love from the Clockwork robots who have plans for her brain.

“According to legend, wherever the Pandorica was taken, throughout its long history, the Centurion would be there, guarding it.”

“Quite right too. And I suppose, if it’s my last chance to say it, Rose Tyler…”

Ignoring what went on after, that original parting scene at Dårlig Ulv Stranden remains one of modern Doctor Who’s emotional high points as the Tenth Doctor burns up a start just to say goodbye to Rose Tyler who was seemingly trapped forever in a parallel universe.
