During the final tussle in the sky over London, we see the raw power and determination of the Doctor as he bares his teeth.
“And however scared you are, Clara, the man you are with right now … he is more scared than anything you can imagine right now.”
To ease the transition, the Eleventh Doctor calls Clara from Trenzalore, sensing that his new persona might have trouble reconnecting with her. It might have been cheesy, but somehow it seemed to work.
“Please just… just see me.”
The Doctor implores Clara to accept him in this new form.
