Speed 3 (Series 3, ep 3)

‘Speed 3’ sees the show offer an ingenious spin on the premise of the film Speed, which involves Dougal being in charge of a milk float to which a bomb is attached, primed to go off if the float’s speed drops below 4mph.

The bomb is the handiwork of disgraced former milkman and resident lothario Pat Mustard, who is taking revenge for Ted having exposed his various dalliances. The episode plays out as a wonderful homage to action movies, combined with typical Craggy Island insanity. Dougal braves various hazardous obstacles, including several lightweight cardboard boxes, but luckily the assembled priests put their heads together and come up with the fool proof plan to save the day: a good mass.
