That’s No Moon
Something that sparked a lot of speculation in the lead-up to Rogue One’s release was a shot of the Death Star in the trailer where it appeared to be upside down. From a logical standpoint, it would seem to be so that the Superlaser could have a cleaner line of fire but this is Star Wars so logic belongs in the Trash Compactor.
Admittedly, we might be reaching here but it seems like that shot was a nod to the artwork of the Destroy The Death Star board game. Where, for some reason, someone on the marketing team flipped the image in Photoshop. Or whatever the equivalent was in the 70s. We think it was called “moving things by hand”.
But either way, we got some upside-down Death Star action. Or maybe the pilots were just absolutely hammered. Loads of people work on the Death Star so at least one has to be a Death Stick dealer, right?
