There are several big questions posed in The Force Awakens that will need to be answered in 2017’s eighth Star Wars adventure.

Here are a few of them…

 

Where did Maz Kanata get Luke’s lightsaber?

Originally, it belonged to Anakin Skywalker. Then Obi-Wan Kenobi took it after kicking Anakin’s arse and hoarded it for decades before passing it onto Anakin’s son, Luke, who lost it – along with his hand – in a scrap with his old man at Cloud City.

But in The Force Awakens, the most feted lightsaber in the galaxy turns up in a wooden box in Maz Kanata’s basement.

We need to know how it ended up there after falling into the bowels of Lando Calrissian’s mining facility.

Speaking of whom….

 

Where’s Lando?

Although Han, Leia and (finally) Luke appear in The Force Awakens, Han’s sometime rival and most-of-the-time friend Lando Calrissian is conspicuous by his absence.

Lando’s former co-pilot Nein Numb now flies an X-wing; where is the original owner of the Falcon? If he turns up in Episode VIII, will he console Leia in her grief at Han’s death or use the latter’s demise as an opportunity to slide into her DMs?
