2012’s The Dark Knight Rises was close behind with 19% of male votes, while women named Joss Whedon’s team-up movie Avengers Assemble as their second favourite.

Halle Berry’s Catwoman was named the Worst Superhero Film of all Time. However, she was still the superhero that men would most like to date, followed by Wonder Woman.

Women most wanted to date Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, closely followed by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who returns this summer in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Best Superhero Vehicle? Bruce Wayne’s Batmobile took 62% of votes.

In the Toughest Superhero category, Hulk was the most popular choice with men, while Batman was the most popular choice with women.

Marvel or DC Comics? Following the success of the Avengers franchise, 59% of voters picked Marvel – and 41% of men would be happy to give up DC Comics altogether in favour of Marvel!
