Disney+ has released its schedule for June of 2026 and the Doctor Who spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea once again doesn’t appear on its lineup for the month.
According to a BBC spokesperson who spoke to The Sun, “The deal with Disney+ was for 26 episodes…” Counted among the 26 episodes were three Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials, two 8-episode Doctor Who series, two Doctor Who Christmas specials in 2023 and 2024 and five episodes of The War Between the Land and the Sea.

While Disney never shared its streaming date for the series, a BBC press release stated that The War Between the Land and the Sea would stream on Disney+ in “early 2026.”
June 2026 marks the end of the first half of the year, putting any transmission of the spin-off series in July or later in the second half of the year — unequivocally late 2026.
CultBox reached out to Disney Media Relations on March 17, when they released their April 2026 schedule, to inquire why The War Between the Land and the Sea had not yet been made available on their streaming service. We received no reply.

In the UK, the series transmitted on BBC One in December 2025 and remains available to view on BBC iPlayer.
This apparent delay raises the question whether there has been a change of the BBC/Disney agreement. Can it be that Disney+ no longer has plans to stream the five episodes of The War Between the Land and the Sea?
In the USA, Doctor Who Series 1-13 (2005-2022) will stream on AMC+ starting in June. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come for future Doctor Who. AMC+ streams varying content in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and Spain.

Fans outside the UK who wish to watch the The War Between the Land and the Sea have the option of purchasing the DVD or Blu-ray from outlets in the UK. A Blu-ray player with the ability to play discs in the Region B format is required.
