The Thirteen series will feature Doctors portrayed by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, John Hurt, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker and Jo Martin.

The longest-running British science fiction television series, which premiered 20 years ago this year in the US, follows the stories of a regenerating Time Lord who travels on adventures through all of time and space. Doctor Who has also had an enormous impact on pop culture, bringing together a passionate fanbase while winning many accolades, including multiple BAFTA Awards and a Peabody Award.

From Series 11, Doctor Who was produced by BBC Studios for BBC iPlayer and BBC One with BBC America (a network now owned by AMC) as co-producer. BBC Studios is the international distributor for Doctor Who.
“Doctor Who strengthens AMC+’s position as a destination for premium genre storytelling – curated franchises defined by iconic worlds, passionate fan bases and enduring cultural impact,” said Courtney Thomasma, Executive Vice President of AMC Global Media’s linear and streaming products. “We’re thrilled to welcome the Whoniverse into our home of fandoms, giving longtime fans a reason to return while inviting new audiences to discover one of television’s most beloved franchises.”

Is this a sign of things to come for future series and specials of Doctor Who in the USA and other territories covered by AMC+? Nothing is known at this time.
AMC+ will begin streaming 2005–2022 Doctor Who on June 11. All the episodes coming to AMC+ in the USA will remain available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
