Marvel’s Kevin Feige confirms Charlie Cox as the MCU’s Daredevil

There’s no recast planned so it looks like a matter of when, not if.

Across three seasons on the Netflix show Daredevil, as well as in The Defenders team-up, Charlie Cox won a legion of fans with his portrayal of Matt Murdock.

The so-called ‘Man without Fear’, he’s the blind hero who is a lawyer by day and a superhero by night. However, when the pre-Disney+ Marvel/Netflix shows ended, it was feared that iteration of the character was over too.

Now, thanks to a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Marvel head-honcho Kevin Feige confirmed he will return, saying:

“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Marvel being Marvel, that’s all he said, but it’s enough!

Where might he appear?

The comment could mean anything from another Daredevil series to a movie. Or, it could mean a series of appearances in other properties.

There’s a chance that Matt Murdock might pop up in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Homebut then fans are hoping for all sorts of appearances in that one (including multiple Peter Parkers!)

Equally, there’s plenty of potential for a role in one of the many Disney+ shows. The upcoming She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany as the Hulk’s cousin Jennifer Walters would be a natural fit. She’s a lawyer by day too so it’s conceivable the pair could meet each other across a courtroom.

Additionally, Maya Lopez (aka Echo) has just been introduced on Hawkeye, prior to spinning out into her own show. She has connections to Wilson Fisk, The Kingpin, who’s widely expected to appear on Hawkeye played by Vincent D’Onofrio, reprising his Daredevil role. If that happens, might Matt Murdock appear in his wake?

Echo

While we’re waiting (and hoping), Marvel have just dropped a featurette about Alaqua Cox as Echo, entitled ‘Becoming Maya’:

Hawkeye continues to drop weekly on Disney+, on Wednesdays… and we’ll be watching with renewed interest!
