The Avengers spin-off is being billed as ‘The Six Part Holiday Event’ for Disney+.
Marvel have dropped a further trailer for Hawkeye, the show picking up on the post-Avengers: Endgame story of Clint Barton.
Jeremy Renner’s archer will be joined by Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, teaming up to deal with threats from Barton’s past; during ‘the Blip’, when fifty percent of the population were wiped out by Thanos, it’s fair to say he went dark.
This latest trailer however, plays up the slapstick and buddy movie aspects of the show. Set to the tune of ‘Deck the Halls’, there are car chases, trick arrow shots, explosions and plenty of wisecracks. Particularly from Steinfeld’s Kate – and we certainly get a feel for her character as a not-quite-so polished wannabe hero. She’s thrilled to be working with “an avenger” and seemingly has a lot to learn!
Joining Renner and Steinfeld, Hawkeye stars Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, Zahn McClarnon and Brian d’Arcy James. Of those, Alaqua Cox is one to watch out for; this will be the debut of Maya Lopez, better known as the deaf Native American superhero Echo, who’s set to spin off into her own show.
Additionally, Linda Cardellini, Ava Russo, Ben Sakamoto and Cade Woodward are all reprising their roles as Barton’s wife and children, plus an appearance from Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova (Black Widow) is widely expected too.
As previously reported, Hawkeye lands at Disney+ November 24th (for Thanksgiving) with a double episode drop. It then plays out across successive Wednesdays, concluding on 22nd December and making way for The Book of Boba Fett.
Explosions, archery and a cute dog – what could be more festive? We’re ready!
