The Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones star in a comic strip adventure to celebrating Doctor Who’s 60th.
As Doctor Who’s big anniversary approaches, there are numerous ways to splash your hard-earned cash. The show has a long and storied history in comic form, and the current incarnation of that comes from Titan Comics.
Their contribution to the festivities comes in the form of a graphic novel. Once Upon A Time Lord stars the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones, plus a host of familiar adversaries.
The story comes from the award-winning Spider-Man writer Dan Slott, who makes his Doctor Who debut with the title. The illustrator is Christopher Jones, a stalwart of Titan’s Doctor Who range.

Interestingly, this is not the first Doctor Who tale to bear the title. Once Upon a Time-Lord was also a Sixth Doctor comic strip from the pages of Doctor Who Magazine in 1985. Written by Steve Parkhouse and illustrated by John Ridgeway, it also featured the Doctor’s shape-changing companion Frobisher, who was stuck as a penguin. It will be interesting to see if he’s snuck into the pages of this version too!
Previously scheduled for October 10th, Titan Comics’ Doctor Who: Once Upon A Time Lord is published on 7th November, 2023. It’s up for pre-order and available as a hardcover, as well as on Kindle.
