The actor reprises his role from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

2018’s animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse provided a kaleidoscopic breath of fresh air to the superhero genre. As well as introducing us to Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, we memorably met a variety of alt-universe Spider heroes. Who can forget Spider-Ham?

Now, long in gestation, another of those alternate Spider-Men is starring in his own story.

Due to land in 2026, Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic. Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

A trailer from the current Amazon Upfront presentations has landed online…

Hollywood legend Nicholas Cage returns to the role for the series. Joining him, the show stars Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston.

We can also expect guest star appearances from Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.

The show is set to air in the UK on MGM+, coming to Amazon Prime a day later. It will also be available to watch in both black and white and colour.

Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes. Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (Shantaram) will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. The pair developed the show with team behind the Spider-Verse movies: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.

We’ll keep you posted on Spider-Noir.
