The show follows a group of Brits who emigrate to Australia in the 1950s for the princely sum of £10.
Back in June, we reported on the cast announcements for Ten Pound Poms. The upcoming drama series from writer Danny Brocklehurst, which filmed last year, tells the story of a group of Brits who leave dreary post-war Britain in 1956 for a life-altering adventure down under. The show’s title refers to the processing charge it cost to migrate to Australia at the time.
Now, the BBC have released a series of images giving us a first look at the show’s stars in action.
The cast for Ten Pound Poms is led by Michelle Keegan (Our Girl)…
Plus, Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones) and Warren Brown (Luther).
The ensemble also includes Hattie Hook, Finn Treacy, David Field, Sophie Gregg, Cheree Cassidy and Rob Collins.
For a rundown of the show’s storyline, check out our previous post and there are further images in the BBC’s press release.
Eleven (Sex Education, The Enfield Haunting) are producing the show for BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and Stan in Australia. Tommy Bulfin executive produces for the BBC, with Amanda Duthie and Cailah Scobie for Stan. Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell executive produce for Eleven, and Olivia Trench will co-executive produce the series. The series directors are Jamie Stone and Ana Kokkinos.
We’re still waiting for the show’s start date, but we’ll keep you posted.
