UPDATE 1: Sir Derek Jacobi and Dame Diana Rigg have been confirmed as joining the cast! The announcement was just made by the BBC, although we’re still waiting for an exact transmission date. We’ll keep you posted!
UPDATE 2: The BBC has confirmed when A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will be broadcast. It’s going out on BBC One, on Saturday 30th December at 7.10pm.
The comedy highlight of last year’s Christmas schedules was the one-hour television adaptation of Mischief Theatre’s theatrical hit, Peter Pan Goes Wrong. Capturing the spoof spirit of something akin to The Naked Gun, the ‘Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s take on Peter Pan was really something rather special (and very much in the style of the company’s massive West End hit, The Play That Goes Wrong, that’s been touring the UK this year).
And this year, they’re back.
A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong has been penned by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and has been confirmed to be part of the BBC’s Yuletide line-up. We don’t have the exact transmission date yet, but we’ll pass it on when we get it.
Promises to be a whole lot of fun, this. We can’t wait…
