Battlestar Galactica box set heading to iPlayer

You can start binging Ronald D. Moore’s beloved sci-fi reboot series from next weekend….

The beeb has snagged all of Battlestar Galactica to stream as a box set on iPlayer from Saturday September 5th. The series will also be airing on BBC Two from the 5th at 9:45pm.

The widely loved (except for the final season) show begins in a distant star system, where a civilisation of humans lives on a group of planets known as the Twelve Colonies. After scientist Gaius Baltar helps their android enemy – the Cylons – launch a sudden sneak attack the humans, there are only about 50,000 survivors. The Battlestar Galactica seems to be the only military ship that survived. Colonial Fleet officer Commander William “Bill” Adama (Edward James Olmos) and President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), along with Galactica crew, decide to see if they can escape far enough from the Cylons to find Earth.
