CBS has released (via Twitter) a trailer for the Silence of the Lambs spin-off Clarice.
On their dedicated Twitter feed (@ClariceCBS) we now have a tweet:
The silence is over. #Clarice premieres February 11, 2021 on @CBS and @CBSAllAccess. This is accompanied by the trailer. The series stars Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) as Clarice Starling, and is set in 1993. Eagle eyed readers will spot this is one year after Jodie Foster’s original Agent Starling met Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) for the first time.
CBS previously released a video with Executive Producers and co-Creators Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet explaining how they landed on the idea for Clarice. The idea is to dive into the untold personal story of brilliant and vulnerable FBI Agent Clarice Starling after the terrifying events that transpired in The Silence Of The Lambs. There’s a mix of serial killers and sexual predators as well as politics, so plenty for Agent Starling to get her teeth into. The trailer is scattered with references to the film as well as establishing some of the context in which she will be operating.
On getting the role, Rebecca Breeds posted this on Instagram:
‘Thank you thank you thank you for the role of a life time. Think I’ve earned myself a nice glass of Chianti…’
No word yet on when or how Clarice will be available in the UK.
