Potential slight spoilers for Doctor Who series 11!
Filming has been ongoing for Doctor Who series 11 these past few months, with three blocks of filming all but done.
At the start of the year, the Doctor Who team was in South Africa, filming in and around Cape Town. And from casting notices, it pointed to the show tackling the story of Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks, of course, being the woman known as ‘the first lady of civil rights’. Her refusal to give up her seat to a white man in December 1955 in Alabama is seen as a pivotal moment in the civil rights movements.
What part of Rosa’s story is being told isn’t clear, and naturally enough, the Who team haven’t confirmed the story. Credit, though, to Girly Letters, for spotting that David Rubin is listed as playing Raymond Parks in episode three of the new run. That suggests that the Rosa Parks episode will fall third in the series run.
Filming continues on the series. More as we get it.
