In an interview with the CTV Television Network, Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall revealed that Maxine Alderton wrote Episode 8 of Series 12.
“…Maxine Alderton, who’s written Episode 8, was very passionate about…something I will not tell you about [laughs]. I can’t tell you what the subject matter is. Anyway, watch Episode 8. It’s amazing, it’s really good, and when we can tell you about it we will. But she came in with that idea, that group of characters and that setting…”
According to the Mirror, an episode of Doctor Who Series 12 will feature Mary Shelley and Cybermen. The featured image of this article is a still from the Doctor Who Series 12 trailer which appears to show a new type of Cyberman inside a house.
Episode 8, filmed by Emma Sullivan in the fourth filming block of Series 12, included some filming at Methyr Mawr Estate with actors dressed in 19th century period costume. Maxim Baldry, Jacob Collins-Levy and two other actresses were spotted at the estate, as were Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole. Whittaker celebrated her birthday while filming at Merthyr Mawr Estate.
