There had been rumours at one point suggesting that Eve Myles – Gwen in Torchwood, of course – was heading to the cast of Doctor Who series 11 for a return appearance. Not so, apparently, but Myles has nonetheless been chatting about Jodie Whittaker’s turn as the Doctor in a new interview.
Talking to the Radio Times, she said of Whittaker’s turn in Doctor Who that “I can’t wait. Jodie will shout and stamp and be elegant and beautiful and strong and powerful and everything you’d want in the new Doctor. She’s one of our greats, she’s phenomenal”.
“I have two daughters and my little one is eight and a half and she’s so excited. There’s such a buzz in school that there’s a female Doctor. It’s very empowering”, Myles added.
Myles will be appearing on BBC One from next Thursday, incidentally, as the BBC Wales hit Keeping Faith gets a nationwide bow.
Doctor Who returns in October.
