Scott Z. Burns’ star-studded drama features Marion Cotillard, Daveed Diggs, Kit Harrington, Sienna Miller and Meryl Streep.
We’ve heard plenty about AppleTV+’s Extrapolations as details of the show’s casting emerged during filming. The climate crisis anthology, from writer/director Scott Z. Burns (Contagion), has a galaxy of stars attached which should ensure that each episode gets plenty of attention in its own right.
Now, with the show confirmed for a March 17th, 2023 start date on the streamer, AppleTV+ have released some first-look images.
Here’s the synopsis for Extrapolations:
Extrapolations is a bracing drama from writer, director and executive producer Scott Z. Burns that introduces a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives. Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population.
Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal. And when the fate of humanity is up against a ticking clock, the battle between courage and complacency has never been more urgent. Are we brave enough to become the solution to our own undoing before it’s too late?
So, we have images for Marion Cotillard, Daveed Diggs, Kit Harington, Sienna Miller and Meryl Streep. The latter four are from the episodes 1 – 3, while Marion Cotillard’s hails from episode 7.
A sky full of stars
Other names announced for the eight-part show include Gemma Chan, Michael Gandolfini, Eiza Gonzalez, Tobey Maguire, Matthew Rhys, David Schwimmer and Forest Whittaker. Additionally, there’s Cherry Jones, Heather Graham, Ed Norton, Keri Russell and India Varma too.
We’re expecting the show to land with a big splash – those first three episodes debut together on March 17th.
