The show adapts Dirk Kurbjuweit’s book of the same name.
It’s that time of year again when we remember that Martin Compston is actually Scottish. The Line of Duty star headlines Prime Video’s new psychological thriller series Fear.
Set in Glasgow, the story follows Compston’s Martyn and his wife Rebecca, played by Anjli Mohindra. They play a couple pushed to the absolute limit by their basement-dwelling neighbour Jan, played by Solly McLeod (Tom Jones).
Based on the trailer, we may never move house again!
Here’s the synopsis for Fear:
Excited to make a fresh start away from London, Martyn (Martin Compston) and Rebecca (Anjli Mohindra) move into a beautiful house in Glasgow with their two young children. At first the new home seems idyllic, but when their neighbour Jan (Solly McLeod) makes unnerving comments to Rebecca it turns out to be the start of something far more intimidating. Facing accusations that are every parent’s worst nightmare, and with the authorities refusing to step in, Martyn and Rebecca feel they have nowhere to turn to for help.
The show’s wider cast includes James Cosmo (Nightsleeper), Maureen Beattie (Deadwater Fell), Daniel Portman, Anneika Rose and Bhav Joshi.
Mick Ford (After the Flood) adapts Fear based on Dirk Kurbjuweit’s book. Justin Chadwick (Shardlake) directs. The series comes from Wild Mercury and Capricorn Productions.
All three episodes of Fear drop on March 4th, 2025.
