Big Finish has released a promotional photo of the cast for their upcoming fifth season of Torchwood.

Featuring new characters co-created and overseen by Russell T Davies, Torchwood: Aliens Among Us was announced last weekend.

Season 5 follows the events of 2011’s Miracle Day and sees Captain Jack, Gwen and Rhys reunited in Cardiff.

Joining John Barrowman, Kai Owen, Tom Price and Eve Myles in the new audio adventures are Paul Clayton, Alexandria Riley, Sam Béart, Jonny Green.

Producer James Goss revealed: “Russell’s been wonderfully involved in the continuation of Torchwood. We came up with some characters and ideas and he very kindly, very politely said ‘Marvellous, but no. Howabout…?’. And that’s what lead to Jack and Gwen being joined by Mr Colchester (Paul Clayton), Ng (Alexandria Riley), Tyler (Jonny Green) and the enigmatic Orr (Sam Béart).”

He teased: “Who are they? What part do they have to play in the future of Torchwood? And can they save Cardiff from an invasion that’s already been lost?”

This new season of Torchwood will be released in three box sets, with the first due this August.

The episode titles for the first box set are are:

1: ‘Changes Everything’
2: ‘Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy’
3: ‘Orr’
4: ‘Superiority Complex’

The second and third volumes will follow in October and early 2018.

All three box sets can be pre-ordered today, individually for £25 on Download or £28 on CD – with specially-priced Torchwood: Aliens Among Us bundles collecting all three for £60 and £75 respectively.
