And Sky have released a date for the show’s return.
(Updated 26/09/22): A lot has changed in the world since the first series of Gangs of London aired back in April 2020.
At the time, the home grown thriller series not only garnered critical acclaim, but became the biggest Sky Original series for five years when it launched on Sky Atlantic. A recommission wasn’t far behind and now we finally have a start date: Gangs of London series 2 will begin on Thursday, October 20th.
The latest information from Sky, in addition to May’s blood-soaked trailer, tells us that the show will see old favourites and new players fight back against the new order, forcing sworn enemies and family members to betray each other. The new season promises “… twists, turns and exhilarating, cinematic action sequences.”
Interestingly, the synopsis for the new series now specifically mentions new gang leader Koba (Waleed Zuaiter):
“One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of series one, the map and soul of London has been redrawn. The surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and ex-undercover cop Elliot is now being forced to work for the investors. To restore order, the investors have aligned behind heroin baron Asif Afridi and together they have installed a new ruling force in London in the form of brutal gang leader – Koba.”
“His vision for the criminal landscape is a dictatorship, a world in which old school gangster codes don’t exist and in which he holds a complete monopoly over London’s drug trade. But this monopoly can’t last forever. The gangs are fighting back – who will win the battle for the soul of London?”
Gangs of London series 2 arrives on Sky Atlantic and NOW on October 20th, 2022.
In the US, will have to wait until November 17th for AMC to air the show.

Gangs of London – the full Series 2 trailer is here
But we still don’t know when the show will air.
After last week’s teaser trailer for Gangs of London series 2, Sky are back with a full trailer.
Here’s the premise for the new run:
One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of series one, the map and soul of London has been redrawn. The surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and Elliot is now being forced to work for the Investors.
As the Investors look down on a city sliding into chaos they decide enough is enough and bring in reinforcements to restore control. Old favourites and new players fight back against the new order, forcing sworn enemies to work together and family members to betray each other. Who will win the battle for London’s soul?
Needless to say. this trailer is bloody, violent and definitely NSFW!
“The city’s changed. The Investors have a new player.”
This longer two-minute promo begins repeating the question posed in the teaser. It asks “What does it feel like to be a king?” We see the answer in short order, it feels bloody, brutal and terrifying!
Setting up the new power vacuum, we see all the main players affected by last season’s brutal events. Then, we get a look at the man who’s filling that vacuum – the gang leader Kova (Waleed Zuaiter).
