The Jurassic World director will helm the sci-fi thriller series’ debut, based on Christopher Long’s comic mini-series.
Thanks to Deadline, we’ve learned that Halcyon is in development. The show is based on the Hiding In Time comic mini-series, published across three issues by Image Comics in 20007.
It’s described as a paranoid sci-fi thriller exploring the concept of a temporal witness protection program. Families are safely relocated to other eras… until the seemingly infallible system is breached…
With temporal hit squads despatched, the comic follows technician Nathan Crew of the now defunct Time Portal Division who travels in time to warn the witnesses.
Halcyon is created by Richard Smith who has written the pilot, to be directed by Colin Trevorrow.
The showrunner is Davey Holmes (Get Shorty, Shameless) who executive produces alongside Trevorrow (for his Metronome Film Company), Andrew Mittman for 1.21 (Wednesday), and Lloyd Braun. Halcyon comes from MGM Television.
We’ll keep you posted.
