The first 13 Reasons Why season 2 trailer has landed on the web, giving viewers a glimpse of how the Netflix drama will continue despite its initial plotline being resolved.
13 Reasons Why season 1 saw the show’s young cast of characters, predominantly Dylan Minnette’s Clay, struggling to listen to the tape-recorded suicide notes of their friend, Katherine Langford’s Hannah. 13 Reasons Why season 2 will seemingly feature more than one female releasing Polaroid pictures pertaining the problems in their lives.
Here’s the trailer, which explains a little more…
“Hannah wasn’t the only one”, reads the first Polaroid picture to tumble from Clay’s locker. It seems that Hannah’s death was something of a Watershed moment for her school, inspiring more young women to come forward and out their abusers. Shots from the trailer hint at tens, if not hundreds, of Polaroid pictures, all of which Clay feels the need to investigate.
Elsewhere in the trailer, there are shots of a trial, strongly suggesting that the legal scenes of season 1 were just the beginning with regards to formal repercussions of Hannah’s suicide. And speaking of Hannah, it seems like Langford will be reprising her role in a slightly new guise: as a voice inside Clay’s head, egging him on to the right thing and help get justice for her and these other young women.
13 Reasons Why season 2 arrives on Netflix on May 18th, 2018.
