On top of the Pedro Pascal-starring The Mandalorian and the Diego Luna-starring Cassian Andor series, Disney’s big boss Bob Iger reckons one more Star Wars TV series could make its way to the Disney+ streaming service. Here’s everything we know…
Iger was talking at the MoffetNathanson Media & Communications Summit, which Slashfilm wrote about, touching upon the big gap between this Christmas’ Star Wars Episode IX and whatever will come next for the movie franchise.
Between this Christmas and the year 2022, when the next film is believed to be coming out, Iger seems to be shifting the focus of Star Wars onto the small screen.
Here’s what he said:
“In the interim [between movies], we are producing two live-action Star Wars series for Disney+. One of them is called The Mandalorian, which is being supervised by Jon Favreau, and the other one is a bit of a prequel to Rogue One. My guess is there will probably be one more, at least one more, live-action series that we produce for Disney+, meaning a Star Wars series, before we release the next film.”
What might this other show be? It’s impossible to know, at this stage, but this won’t stop fans from developing their own wishlists. We’ll just to wait and see to find out what Disney has in store…
