The Wall Street stock market crash of 1987, infamously remembered as Black Monday, will be explored in a new TV drama entitled – you guessed it – Black Monday. Here’s the trailer, starring the mighty Don Cheadle.
The 10-part series was created and showrunner-ed by David Caspe and Jordan Cahan, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg executive producing and directing the pilot. The show will delve into the origins of the crash, with Cheadle’s character at the centre of the action.

Also, here’s the synopsis…
“BLACK MONDAY takes viewers back to October 19, 1987 – aka Black Monday, the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. To this day, no one knows who caused it … until now. It’s the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine and the glass ceiling. Starring Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells and Regina Hall.”
And here’s a rather snazzy poster…
Black Monday will debut on Showtime, for American viewers, on Sunday 20th January. There’s no news yet regarding a UK broacast, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as we hear more.
