David Tennant for ‘Hannibal’ guest role?

Broadchurch star David Tennant has been chatting to to Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller about a possible guest part in the hit US drama.

Tennant told journalists: “It’s a conversation that’s been had a couple of times. I would love to work with Bryan on anything – I think he’s a rare talent- so it would be lovely if something worked out.”

The former Doctor Who star reportedly nearly played Hannibal Lecter before Casino Royale‘s Mads Mikkelsen won the part.

Showrunner Fuller told Digital Spy last year: “We had talked about David being a guest star in Season 2. Once again, it’s a schedule issue. He was filming the American Broadchurch for our dates in Season 2, and he’s also a very busy man, so it’s about finding that window.”

He added: “I love David Tennant, I think he’s a wonderful talent and I’ve been dying to work with him for many years now, so one way or another it’s going to happen.”

Tennant returned to UK screens this week in the second season of Broadchurch on ITV.
