A film crew from Bad Wolf filmed scenes for the 2025 series of Doctor Who with Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu at Penarth Pier in Wales on 22 January 2024.

The pavilion at the pier was dressed as a 1950s movie theatre in Miami, Florida called the Palazzo with a fictitious Rock Hudson movie titled The Harvest Bringer on the marquee.

The TARDIS prop was present at the location and so was an unidentified device.

Gatwa and Sethu, dressed in 1950s garb, were filmed running out of the building among smoke and rubble. Another actor wearing an American diner food server or “soda jerk” hat was present. In the midst of the chaos, THE HARVEST BRINGER on the marquee loses a few letters to spell HARBINGER.

Later, the crew filmed night scenes of Gatwa and Sethu entering the theatre.

Filming is expected to continue in the same location on 23 January before moving to Leominster, Herefordshire on 24 January.

Fans won’t see the episode filmed this week until next year. Varada Sethu is rumoured to portray the Fifteenth Doctor’s (Ncuti Gatwa) companion for most of the Doctor Who series to air in 2025.

A new 8-episode Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday will debut in May 2024.
