A crew filmed scenes 30 May through 2 June inside an academic building on The Parade in Cardiff for what is believed to be Episode 2 of the Doctor Who series to debut with Ncuti Gatwa in 2024.

The crew had previously filmed on 8 May The Parade on with the street freshly painted with a zebra crossing akin to the one pictured on The Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover.

This time they filmed scenes in the basement of an unused building owned by Cardiff and Vale College, Ncuti Gatwa and Mille Gibson were filmed running down The Parade and going inside the building during the May 8 filming.

The filming began on 30 May.

The crew continued at the location on 31 May where an onlooker spotted actors resembling the four members of The Beatles and a double for Millie Gibson in her 1960s costume.

Ncuti Gatwa was also at the location in his 1960s costume.

The filming continued on 1 June with Ncuti Gatwa again present.

In Doctor Who Magazine 586, Russell T Davies stated, “…here I am, with episode two in front of me (it contains the words Liverpool, legions and non-diegetic)…”. Since the current filming block (Block 4) is believed to consist of Episodes Two and Six, and The Beatles are from Liverpool, the episode filmed on The Parade is likely Episode Two of Ncuti Gatwa’s first series as the Doctor.

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as companion Donna Noble. In the following festive period, Ncuti Gatwa will star in his first full Doctor Who episode as the Fifteenth Doctor. A new Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will debut in 2024.
