The BBC has published the official synopsis for the second episode of Doctor Who‘s new series, titled ‘Into the Dalek’.

The synopsis reads: “A Dalek fleet surrounds a lone rebel ship, and only the Doctor can help them now… with the Doctor facing his greatest enemy, he needs Clara by his side.

“Confronted with a decision that could change the Daleks forever he is forced to examine his conscience. Will he find the answer to the question, am I a good man?”

The episode airs on Satuday 30 August on BBC One and is described by showrunner Steven Moffat as “a gritty Dalek adventure”.

Written by Phil Ford (‘The Waters of Mars’), ‘Into the Dalek’ guest stars Spaced actor Michael Smiley and Fresh Meat actress Zawe Ashton.

Series 8 begins on Saturday 23 August on BBC One with ‘Deep Breath’.
