The BBC has published the official synopsis for the fourth episode of Doctor Who‘s new series, titled ‘Listen’.

The synopsis reads: “When ghosts of past and future crowd into their lives, the Doctor and Clara are thrown into an adventure that takes them to the very end of the universe.

“What happens when the Doctor is alone? And what scares the grand old man of Time and Space? Listen!”

Written by Steven Moffat, the episode airs on Satuday 13 September on BBC One and is described by showrunner Steven Moffat as “a complete departure for me in terms of writing Doctor Who”.

Series 8 continues tomorrow night on BBC One with ‘Into the Dalek’.
