Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road — trailer breakdown and cast

Posted Filed under

Two trailers and a scene were released to the Doctor Who festive special, The Church on Ruby Road.

The Doctor comes face-to-face with the mythical and mysterious goblins as his life collides with Ruby Sunday. Ruby meets a man called the Doctor, stolen babies and goblins as she attempts to learn the secret of her birth. Little is known about Ruby as she was abandoned long ago in the snow on Christmas Eve 2004 as a baby. Now living with her mum Carla and grandmother Cherry, Ruby’s world is about to be turned upside when she encounters the Doctor and the two set off on their first adventure together. Ruby’s life will never be the same.

The cast list released so far:

Ncuti Gatwa plays the Doctor

Millie Gibson plays Ruby Sunday, a young woman attempting to find her birth parents.

Michelle Greenidge plays Carla Sunday, Ruby’s mother.

Angela Wynter plays Cherry Sunday, Ruby’s grandmother

Davina McCall plays herself as a television host helping Ruby to find her birth parents.

Anita Dobson plays Mrs. Flood, likely Ruby’s neighbour.

Hemi Yeroham plays Abdul, likely another of Ruby’s neighbours.

Gemma Arrowsmith plays Ruth Lyons. Russell T Davies described Ruth Lyons as a social worker.

Bobby Bradley plays Denzel and Mary Malone plays Trudy, likely one of Ruby’s friends.
