Foxes has given some hints about her upcoming role in the new series of Doctor Who, confirming that she’s “not playing a villain”.
It was announced in May that the British singer-songwriter will guest star in Episode 8, written by Being Human‘s Jamie Mathieson.
Foxes told Digital Spy: “…[the song] is a little bit different from what I’d usually do. It was really nice to be out of my comfort zone. I’m singing it on the episode.”
The pop star revealed that the song might be released after the episode has aired: “It’s one of those things where I wouldn’t say no, but I don’t really know yet.”
Discussing her role in the episode, Foxes teased: “I can’t say! I’m not playing a villain. I think I’m nice in the show.”
She added: “I love [Peter Capaldi]. He’s such a charmer. I was asked who I fancy between Matt [Smith] and him and I was like, ‘Peter Capaldi!'”
Other guest stars confirmed for Series 8 include Ben Miller, Frank Skinner, Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes and Hermione Norris.
Series 8 will begin on BBC One on Saturday 23 August with a feature-length premiere episode entitled ‘Deep Breath’.
