Charlotte Ritchie has revealed that she is unsure if a fourth series of Fresh Meat will happen.
Created by Peep Show‘s Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, the comedy-drama about six students in Manchester launched on Channel 4 in September 2011 and the third series concluded last December.
Asked about the show’s future, Ritchie – who played Oregon – told journalists recently: “I really wish I had an answer because I want to know as well, and it really hangs in lots of different balances, so it all depends on when we’re all free together.”
She added: “I think everybody wants to do it, it’s just a question of scheduling three months of work while everybody is beginning to do lots of different things, so hopefully. It’s a great show, I love doing it and I think everyone involved does, so we’ll just have to wait and see really.”
The actress will next be seen in BBC Three’s new sitcom Siblings, by Fresh Meat writer Keith Akushie, and in the new series of Call the Midwife.
Co-star Zawe Ashton (Vod) will appear in the new series of Doctor Who, while Joe Thomas (Kingsley) stars in this summer’s new Inbetweeners movie and Jack Whitehall (JP) is currently working on the final series of Bad Education.
Ritchie commented: “I couldn’t believe when we’d do 12-13 hour days and [Jack Whitehall] would go and write some more stand-up in between scenes, and then at the end of the day, and then he’d go and do a stand-up show at like 11 in Manchester and then get up at 5.30/6 again and do the rest of the day.”
