The announcement was revealed on Twitter this morning:
Season 5 will begin filming next year and is expected to air in early 2019.
Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio told The Mirror earlier this week: “We haven’t even decided if the next antagonist will be male or female, we are that far off from puzzling it out.”
He added: “I want to look at the personal lives of all the regulars in series five. They’ve taken a backseat in this series to Roz Huntley, so it would be good to explore that side of things a bit more. The regulars are definitely up for doing more.”
