Elizabeth Hurley is joining the Marvel universe, it’s been confirmed, with Hulu snapping up the British actress/model for an evildoing role in Marvel’s Runaways. Here’s everything you need to know…

Liz Hurley, who shot to fame in the nineties and noughties with roles in the likes of Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, Passenger 57 and Bedazzled, has been seen on screen more recently in The Royals, The Tomorrow People, Gossip Girl and An Elephant’s Journey.

In Marvel’s Runaways season 3, Hurley will play Morgan le Fay, a sorceress from Arthurian legend who’s existed in the Marvel Comics universe since 1955. She’ll be the main villain of the new season, it seems.

Hurley shared some excitement about the news on Instagram…

Hurley’s take on Morgan le Fay has been described in the official press release as “powerful and intelligent with a cut-throat wit.”

In an official statement, Marvel TV’s big boss Jeph Loeb said this: “Elizabeth Hurley is joining the Marvel Universe and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her portraying one of the most enchanting Marvel characters.”

This isn’t the first time that Marvel’s version of Morgan le Fay has appeared on screen. The role was previously played by Arrested Development‘s Jessica Walter in 1978’s Dr. Strange TV movie.
