BBC One has set the UK premiere date for London Kills, a new crime drama that was created and produced by the American streaming service Acorn TV.
Two seasons of five episodes apiece were shot back to back, with Suspects creator Paul Marquess leading the charge creatively. Hugo Speer – who has recently been seen in Britannia and The Musketeers – leads the cast as DI David Bradford. This character will return to work, a while after his wife’s disappearance, only to find that very little progress has been made on the case.
Sharon Small (who recently appeared in the smash hit series Trust Me) will play DS Vivienne Cole, who has been leading the investigation without much success while Bradford was out of action.
Bailey Patrick (EastEnders) plays DC Rob Brady, a former soldier that gets caught in between Bradford and Cole. Rounding out the core cast is Tori Allen-Martin, an actress with a lot of stage pedigree, who will make her TV debut as a trainee DS named Billie Fitzgerald. We also know that Glynis Barber, Melanie Gutteridge, Jennie Jacques, Frances Tomelty and Dean Andrews have signed up for guest roles.
TV Wise reports that London Kills will premiere on BBC One on Monday June 24th at 1:45pm, with the first season airing daily over the course of that week.
