The new Doctor Who logo was officially unveiled last week, showcasing the identity for the show as it heads into its eleventh series since it was revived in 2005.
Transform Magazine has gone into a bit more detail on the new branding, that was undertaken by a London agency called LittleHawk.
In an article on its site, it reveals that LittleHawk worked closely with Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens on the work. It also quotes executive creator director of BBC Worldwide, Rafael Perera, as saying “the Doctor Who logo and insignia are the quintessential signifier for the brand. Our aim was to create modern and elegant designs that were anchored in the things that we love most about Doctor Who”.
The article adds too, not insignificantly, that “the show will launch with a 10 second animation featuring the doctor’s vessel the TARDIS blazing a trail through the new logo”. We look forward to seeing that.
