Filming has begun on a brand new Jonathan Creek special.
Titled ‘Daemons’ Roost’, the 90-minute episode will air on BBC One later this year.
QI star Alan Davies returns as Creek, alongside Sarah Alexander (The Worst Week Of My Life) as his wife, Polly.
Davies first revealed details of the new special earlier this year, commenting: “It’s 20 years since the first series. 20 years! It’s unbelievable. I’ll try and drop a few pounds so I’m not fat Creek.”

Jonathan Creek launched in May 1997 and 31 episodes have aired so far. A three-part fifth season of the crime comedy-drama aired on BBC One in 2014.
‘Daemons’ Roost’ is written by series creator David Renwick and directed by Sandy Johnson (Benidorm).
The guest cast includes Warwick Davis (Life’s Too Short), Emun Elliot (Game Of Thrones), Ken Bones (Doctor Who), Rosalind March (Calendar Girls), Jason Barnett (Bad Education) and Jo Martin (Still Open All Hours).
Alan Davies teased: “Jonathan Creek finds himself in real danger. It’s the spookiest episode ever.”
Shane Allen, Controller, Comedy Commissioning added: “Another sublime and intricately conceived treat from David Renwick and a welcome return for Alan Davies in this signature role. You can see the influence of David’s unique blend of dark comedy and crime drama across television since the debut of this show nearly 20 years ago, as it remains a pioneering class act and evergreen favourite with the audience.”
