Aidan Turner has revealed that the new season of Poldark will have more episodes than the first run.
Poldark launched on BBC One earlier this year and it was announced in April that the period drama will return for a second season in 2016.

Speaking to Huff Post about the filming schedule for Season 2, Turner commented: “Yeah, it’s going to be longer than it was last year. We’re going to start [in] September… until like the first week in April.”
The Hobbit actor added: “We’ve two extra episodes this season, which is amazing. The shoot is probably seven and a half months or something like that. A bit longer than last year. But looking forward to it, can’t wait to get back there. I love shooting the show, I love Cornwall, and adore everyone in the show, so it’ll be fun.”
Season 1 featured eight episodes, so Season 2 will have ten episodes.
Season 2 will cover the third and fourth books in author Winston Graham’s series and sees Turner return as Ross Poldark alongside Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza.
Aidan Turner speculated earlier this year that the show could continue for five seasons.
