It was now been officially announced which classic series writer will be returning to Doctor Who to pen an episode for the new season.
12 new episodes are currently filming in Cardiff and will begin airing on BBC One in April 2017.
Here’s everything we know so far about Season 10.
It has been rumoured for a while that, for the first time since Doctor Who was relaunched in 2005, a writer from the show’s classic era would be making a return in Season 10.
The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine (out now) has now confirmed that Rona Munro, who previously wrote 1989’s ‘Survival’, has written the ninth episode of 2017’s season.
‘Survival’ was the final episode of Doctor Who to air before the show’s 16-year hiatus.

It was reported this week that Peter Capaldi and new co-star Pearl Mackie will be departing as the Twelfth Doctor his latest companion Bill Potts after Season 10, allowing new showrunner Chris Chibnall a “clean slate” when he takes over in 2018.
Several brand new monsters for Season 10 have also been revealed this week.
