ITV has apparently axed Jekyll and Hyde following disappointing ratings for its first season.
Created by Charlie Higson (The Fast Show) and inspired by The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, the ten-part action adventure drama launched in October with 4.3m (18.9%) viewers.
However, the final episode last month attracted just 1.8m viewers.

Set in 1930’s London, Jekyll and Hyde starred Tom Bateman, Richard E Grant and Natalie Gumede.
The cast also included Stephanie Hyam (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Donald Sumpter (Game Of Thrones), Christian McKay (Rush), Enzo Cilenti (Game of Thrones) and Ace Bhatti (Silk).
Broadcast reports that the show’s production team have been told that, although pre-production work had begun in preperation for a recommission, there will not be a second season.
ITV has so far declined to comment.
