Hijack unfolds with Idris Elba handling a terrorist attack on a seven-hour London-bound flight.
With a series start date of 28th June 2023, Apple TV+ have dropped a trailer for their upcoming real-time thriller Hijack starring Idris Elba (Luther).
As with all good heroes, the trailer suggests that Idris Elba’s Sam Nelson isn’t looking for trouble, he is just an accomplished business negotiator who wants to get home safely to his family.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Archie Panjabi’s Zarah Gahfoor leads a counterterrorism team who are trying to resolve the situation and save lives.
Joining Elba and Panjabi in the cast are Torchwood’s Eve Myles, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Neil Maskell, Jasper Britton, Harry Michell, Aimee Kelly, Mohamed Elsandel and Ben Miles.
The show comes from Criminal creators George Kay and Jim Field Smith, who executive produce alongside Idris Elba, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta and Kris Thykier. It’s the first from Elba’s Green Door Pictures who have a first-look deal with Apple. Hijack is produced by 60Forty Films, and Kay and Field-Smith’s Idiotlamp Productions.
Hijack departs with a double episode drop on Wednesday June 28th, followed by weekly instalments.
