A word of mouth success, the mystery thriller Keeping Faith has proven to be quite a hit for the BBC Wales and S4C. Starring Torchwood’s Eve Myles, the show premiered on S4C in Welsh and BBC One Wales in English. Through the BBC’s iPlayer service, it’s notched up nearly 10 million viewers, too.
Its popularity is such that the BBC has now decided to give the show a run on BBC One across the entire UK for the first time.
All eight episodes will be coming to BBC one this summer, telling the story of a lawyer, wife and mother who is trying to solve the mystery of her husband’s disappearance.
“I’m so proud that audiences across the UK will now get to enjoy everything Keeping Faith has to offer. Eve Myles has been utterly brilliant and I know she’d be the first to say she was supported by a remarkable cast and the terrific production team at Vox”, said BBC Wales’ Nick Andrews.
“The increased investment in English-language programming at BBC Wales has been a total game-changer for us and Keeping Faith is one of a series of hits which can be directly linked to the new funding.”
When we get a transmission date, we’ll let you know.
