Now this is good news. Jed Mecurio, the writer behind the brilliant Line Of Duty, has a new project lined up at the BBC. It’s going by the name of Bodyguard, and will follow a former soldier – played by Richard Madden – who comes home to join the protection brand of the London Metropolitan Police force.
Keeley Hawes is set to play Home Secretary Julia Montague in the programme, the person that Madden’s character is tasked with protecting. The new drama is set to run for six episodes, and filming has begun already in London.
Expect a transmission date of sometime in 2018.
