Tom Hiddleston trickster god Loki is back for more, while Alaqua Cox breaks new ground with Echo.

With Marvel’s Secret Invasion imminent, Disney+ have revealed start dates for two further Marvel Cinematic Universe television series.

Loki Season 2

If it feels like it’s been an age since Loki‘s first season, it has. The series finished its debut run in July 2021 – Britain’s changed Prime Ministers twice since then and crowned a King!

The trickster god returns on Friday 6th October, and Loki Season 2 again runs for six episodes which drop weekly.

Disney+ 2023 trailer Loki Season 2

As ever, we don’t really know what to expect – save for the fact that most of the principal cast are returning. So, that’s Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero and Owen Wilson. Plus Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes and lots more of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. Additionally, Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan will play a role in the series too.

There were a couple of brief scenes from Loki Season 2 in the Disney+ 2023 teaser…

Echo

Spinning out of Hawkeye, Echo picks up the story of Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. The series will follow Maya as she copes with the revelation of her familial connection to the Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Alaqua Cox as Echo

Again, we don’t know too much about the show, but Charlie Cox is appearing as Matt Murdock ahead of his own Daredevil: Born Again series. Additionally, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene.

If you’re unfamiliar with the central character, Marvel provided a handy explainer prior to her introduction in Hawkeye:

As well as breaking the mould in terms of representation, Disney+ appears to by trying something new with Echo; Rather than a weekly rollout, the whole series drops on Wednesday, 29th November.

We’ll keep you posted on both Loki and Echo.
