Stand and deliver! Apple TV+ give Noel Fielding’s notorious highwayman the nod for a second season.
The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin landed on March 1st 2024, giving the infamous highwayman a comic twist. The show is led by Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh) as Dick.
Now, Apple TV+ have granted the show a second season.
If you’ve not yet caught it, here’s the synopsis:
In The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, Dick Turpin sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws. In this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair. Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin rides the highs and lows of his new endeavours, including a brush with celebrity.
The first season also starred British comics including Ellie White (The Windsors), Dolly Wells (Inside Man) and Mark Heap (Upstart Crow). Apple say that season 2 will also star “a host of great British comedy talent.”
Big Talk Studios (part of ITV Studios) produce the show. The writers are Noel Fielding, Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain, the director is Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners).
The executive producers are Kenton Allen (The Outlaws), Noel Fielding, Victoria Grew (Back), Anthony Wilcox (This England) and Ben Palmer. Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain are co-executive producers.
